You've been tossing and turning aimlessly for the whole night while your partner slept with ease and you could hear occasional snore coming from them. Despite sleeping on the same bed, you start to wonder how is it that they're able to rest while you're not.
Our spine has a natural curve. When we sleep, we must maintain this curve. This is because the spine is the central supporting frame which all our muscles attached themselves to. If we do not adopt proper posture, our spine could potentially be molded to form an irregular curve. This causes all sorts of issues including problems with your spinal muscles
According to reports from psychologists, the sleeping posture of a human portrays their psychological state and personality;
1) Foetus Style
Self-defence, a style of protecting oneself. Have extraordinary analytical power, not easy to expose oneself. May have a strong feeling of independence
2)Semi-Foetus Style
Balanced and stable personality. People sleeping towards the right side will do things seriously, but his/her action may be quite slow. People facing the left would do things bravely.
3)Prostrate/ Worship style
Have the tendency and mindset to occupy the whole bed, hopes to grasp all the things he/she desires into one's hand. Conservative, not able to handle things that happens by accident.
4)King Style
Stable psychological condition. High self-confidence, open-minded and has a creative mind. They're very positive-thinking people.
Introducing the BEST sleeping posture:
The best sleeping position, actually, is to sleep flat on your back with your hands at your side. The neck should be supported either by a very thin pillow, no pillow at all, or one that curves to gently fit the neck. The reason this is the best sleeping posture is due to the fact this is the natural anatomically posture of the entire body. Weight bearing for gravity is evenly distributed from your head to your toes and your organs are able to rest in their natural positions.
Introducing the WORST sleeping posture:
The worst way to sleep, however, is on your stomach as your ribs and your torso are compressing your vital organs such as your heart, liver, lungs, etc.
While these organs are being squashed, they have lesser ability to contract and expand throughout the normal phases of respiration, which means you might not be getting enough oxygen when you sleep which could be very harmful to your health.
So peeps, if you're uncertain of your sleeping posture, the very first thing to do when you wake up is to FREEZE and take a look at your posture before you actually make a break for the door to eat your breakfast.
